The ETC is engaged in a wide range of activities -- all of which are focused around understanding consumer needs as it relates to next-generation digital entertainment. Some of our ongoing and planned activities are as follows:
Anytime/Anywhere Content Laboratory (AACL) [1]
- The AACL is a laboratory with all the latest digital home and on-the-go entertainment devices -- where the industry can explore how consumers will interact with high-quality entertainment in an integrated environment. Through the AACL, we aim to gain insight into consumer trends and opportunities, and to produce tangible research reports highlighting the findings. Most importantly, through the AACL, we will facilitate cross-industry discussions about today's reality and tomorrow's potential digital entertainment offerings.
- Weekly Digital Feedback Sessions [2]
- Each week, ETC interviews 25-30 next-generation consumers at USC and asks them questions about media, devices, and consumption habits. Our goal is to get qualitative data and to spot trend-setting behavior. These explorations bring our sponsors in touch with an crucial segment of their audience, and provide depth and texture to the quantitative data they receive from other sources. This feedback and quick-response capability gives ETC's sponsors timely and relevant feedback to use in their product plans.
- Student Forum [3]
- ETC's Student Forums are informal focus groups/discussions where ETC executive sponsors (studio and technology executives) explore issues of entertainment consumption with USC students. Through the student forum series, we listen to the students’ needs and expectations, which we can learn from and factor into our future product offerings.
